tools, BE CAREFUL and DO IT PROPERLY. Parking brake, wheel chocks,
and jack stands are NOT OPTIONAL, they are NECESSARY. Always
disconnect the negative battery lead where electronics or welding are
involved, and make sure the lead is touching nothing but air. Be
safe, and have fun. See the
Safety Tips page for
more info. The LS Concepts "Lou's Short Stick" gives you much more control over the shifts, and much shorter throw. Very easy install, just remove the shift boot, unscrew the old one, screw in the new one. The easiest position to do it in is to turn the car to "on", shift into reverse, then shut it back off. The instructions say to remove the top of the console, but in reverse I had no problem with just the boot removed. Just be very careful with the shift boot, the plastic ring is very fragile. Lou himself told me he broke his, and that's why he says to remove the console with the boot attached, so if you want to play it safe, leave the boot on and remove the top of the console as per the instructions. 10 minutes total, and now it feels like you're driving a damn Ferarri. |
